Day in the Life: Victor O

At 360 Services, our team members are the heartbeat of our mission to safeguard, support, and serve. In this edition of “Day in the Life,” we get to know Victor O—a dedicated Security Officer who plays a key role in supporting vulnerable adults and ensuring safe environments. Here’s a look into his journey and what inspires him every day.

Why did you start working with 360 Services?

While job hunting, I came across an advert for 360 Services on Indeed and applied for a Security Officer position. I was fortunate to be selected. One of the main reasons I was excited to join was the company’s strong reputation, especially its long-standing partnership with St Mungo’s. It gives me great joy to work with an organisation that makes a meaningful difference by supporting vulnerable adults. Since joining, my journey has been one of continued success, and I’ve experienced a positive working relationship between management and staff.

What does your job involve?

My role as a Security Officer involves both protection and support. I carry out hourly internal and external patrols, ensuring the safety of residents and the surrounding premises. I monitor CCTV for any suspicious activity, such as trespassing or unauthorised access, and remain alert to alarms, including fire and panic systems.

But there’s also a human side to the job. I assist residents who’ve misplaced their keys, offer a listening ear when they need someone to talk to, and provide consistent support to help them feel secure and respected. It’s a role that requires vigilance, empathy, and patience.

Describe some of the training that you received to do your job better.

I completed the Security Industry Authority (SIA) training, which qualified me to work as a licensed security professional. Beyond that, I’ve taken part in health and safety training tailored to working with vulnerable adults. This training taught me how to identify those at risk—such as timid young people or individuals who may be aggressive due to personal challenges and how to support them effectively.

Trauma training also provided valuable insights into what many residents may be going through, like extreme stress. This knowledge has helped me approach every situation with empathy and a deeper understanding of how to help people move forward. I’m always ready to go the extra mile.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my free time, I enjoy reading and listening to gospel music. Family is very important to me, so I spend quality time with my grandchildren, play with them, watch TV, and keep active with regular exercise.

What do you find rewarding about your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is helping others rise from difficult situations. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about being a positive influence in someone’s life helping them regain their strength, confidence, and dignity. That, to me, is the true meaning of humanity.

What’s your most proud moment working with us?

I feel proud every time I see 360 Services growing and expanding. Watching the company progress means more opportunities for others to join us in making a difference. It brings me joy to know I’m part of something that’s having such a wide-reaching impact.

What’s the biggest lesson you have learned working with us?

I’ve learned the true value of teamwork especially when you’re surrounded by people who share the same purpose. At 360 Services, we work together to lift others up, and that sense of unity has taught me how powerful a supportive, compassionate team can be.
